Some stress is good for the brain. Gets us out of bed in the morning. Keeps us performing. Unrelenting stress is bad.
New routines are good. Finding new patterns, try different things, shock the brain a bit. Eat with your left hand if you're right handed.
Multi tasking is attention diverting - better to finish a task and move to the next. Linear is better.
Brain cells can regenerate throughout our lifetime. An injury is often associated with neruplasticity. However an injury is not necessary to generate new brain cells. One can continue to build new brain cells that can have connections with other brain cells and find new pathways. I'm constructing new buildings and roads to get there.
The act of learning something new or experiencing something new can generate new brain cells. Getting out of your comfort zone.The brain is a muscle - use it.
Age 24 is the peak for your brain? This idea is being busted somewhat. But organs age, the brain ages. The aging process is a bit different - some things get much better but dementia is obviously negative.
Exercise is good for good brain function. As is sleep. Sleep helps to consolidate memories and to remove waste.
Doing crosswords and brain games can be helpful? If you've never done them, then they can help more than if you've been doing them for a while.
